CHESS TOURNAMENTS RETURN TO WICOMICO COUNTY

Wicomico County, MD - The excitement of chess is returning to Wicomico County with the Wicomico Recreation & Parks' Adult and Youth Chess Tournaments scheduled for February 21-22 at the Wicomico Civic Center.

This eagerly anticipated event invites chess enthusiasts of all ages to showcase their strategic skills and compete for the prestigious title of this year's chess champion.

The Youth Tournament will kick off the competition on Friday, February 21, at 5:30 p.m. Participants aged 5 to 18 will have the opportunity to demonstrate their skills in this intellectual challenge. Each participant can look forward to four guaranteed matches. Advance registration costs $10, while day-of registration is $15.

The Adult Tournament will commence bright and early on Saturday, February 22, at 8:30 a.m. Competitors aged 18 and older are welcome to join, with three guaranteed matches. The registration fee is $20 for early registration and $25 at the door. Rated youth players who are up for the challenge may also participate in the adult tournament.

The organizers have prepared awards for the top three competitors in each age division, adding an extra level of excitement to the tournaments. Both the youth and adult tournaments will take place in the Midway and Da Nang Rooms of the Civic Center.
