CELEBRATE THE HOLIDAYS IN DOWNTOWN SALISBURY
Salisbury, Md. - The City of Salisbury is getting into the holiday spirit with several upcoming events.
The holiday season in Downtown Salisbury kicks off with Small Business Saturday on Saturday, Nov. 25. Several local businesses will be offering deals that day, including Soul Yoga, SBY Home Décor, Beauty Blooms, Two Scoops Ice Cream & Waffles, Roadie Joe's Bar & Grill, MoJo's and Market Street Inn.
Local artists and crafters will be set up along West Main Street from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., and Blackwater Apothecary will also host vendors that day.
See all the specific deals in the Facebook event, which can be found at www.facebook.com/DowntownSalisburyMD.
The same day, the Salisbury Holiday Hunt will begin. This online scavenger hunt is free to participate in and is hosted on the Scavr app. There will be questions to answer and challenges to conquer that relate to Downtown Salisbury and the surrounding area, including the Salisbury Zoo. The scavenger hunt runs through Dec. 31. To register, visit www.bit.ly/ScavrSalisburyHunt.
The City's tree will be lit during the new Holiday Lights event, set for Saturday, Dec. 2, from 4-6:30 p.m. in and around the Salisbury Headquarters, located at 115 S. Division St. The event is free to attend, and there will be snow - no matter the weather.
During this event, attendees can shop at the vendor market; see performances by Feet of Fire! Dance Academy, Bay Brass, Salisbury University's Squawkapella and The Salisbury School Choir; and visit with Santa and the Grinch. Families can take a Jolly Trolley ride to see nearby holiday decorations, and kids can ride on the Hebron Train Depot's Holiday Express.
There will also be free hot chocolate. People can also decorate a gingerbread house, while supplies last.
