CELEBRATE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT WEEK IN WORCESTER COUNTY
Worcester County Tourism and Economic Development (WCTED), in partnership with the Maryland Economic Development Association (MEDA), invites the public to join them in celebrating Economic Development Week in Maryland, October 23-27, 2023. During the week, WCTED professionals will showcase how local and state partnerships work together to attract new residents and businesses, spur new jobs, and develop new career training opportunities.
"Creating new business opportunities and spurring job growth and higher incomes promotes not just economic wellbeing, but also the overall quality of life throughout Worcester County," WCTED Business Development and Retention Specialist Michele Burke said. "Thriving communities instill in all of us a greater sense of pride and belonging in our home county and our great State of Maryland."
WCTED will be highlighting local initiatives that are improving business retention, job growth, and quality of life for Maryland residents. On Tuesday, Oct. 17, economic development partners will update the commissioners on local economic initiatives.
Monday, Oct. 23, at 8:30 a.m., catch Burke on Ocean 98.1 Irie Radio, as she discusses Economic Development Week events and showcases the Worcester County business community.
Tuesday, Oct. 24, starting at 4 p.m., join WCTED and area partners for an open house at the WCTED office on Green Street in Snow Hill. Tour the new office space, sample refreshments from area eateries, and network with community leaders.
Throughout the week, visit #EconDevWeek and @MarylandsCoast. WCTED will be posting photos, videos, and links to entrepreneurial resources, Economic Development week endeavors, and business spotlights with area entrepreneurs, including the long-standing Bishop's Stock Fine Arts & Gallery in Snow Hill, the whimsical and unique Mermaid Museum in Berlin, and the newly revitalized Eastern Shore Lanes in Pocomoke City.
