CAROLINE COUNTY CRASH TAKES THE LIFE OF A SALISBURY, MARYLAND RESIDENT
Caroline County, MD - A motor vehicle crash in Caroline County, Maryland, has taken the life of a Salisbury, Maryland resident and has left two people with injuries from the incident.
The incident happened on Tuesday evening and is currently under investigation by the Maryland State Police.
Courtney Dunn, a 30-year-old resident of Salisbury, Maryland, lost her life in this incident. Dunn was the sole occupant of a Ford vehicle involved in the crash.
The second vehicle, a Chevrolet, was driven by Paulton Panton, 41, of Preston, Maryland. Panton and a 16-year-old passenger were airlifted to local medical facilities for the treatment of their injuries. The Maryland State Police Aviation Command coordinated the airlift to TidalHealth Peninsula Regional in Salisbury and the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, Maryland.
The accident occurred at the intersection of Maryland Route 16 (Harmony Road) and Grove Road. Initial reports suggest that the Chevrolet failed to stop at the intersection, striking the Ford that Dunn was driving.
The crash led to the closure of Route 16 for approximately 3 hours to allow police to investigate the incident. The Maryland State Police Crash Team is leading the ongoing investigation. Once the investigation concludes, the findings will be submitted to the Caroline County State's Attorney's Office for further decisions on potential charges.
