CARELESS DISCARDED SMOKING MATERIALS BELIEVED TO BE CAUSE OF CAROLINE COUNTY FIRE
Caroline County, MD - A local home in Henderson, Caroline County, was struck by a fire incident at 4:42 P.M. on November 30, 2024. The house, located in the 25000 block of Trunk Line Road, was a two-story, single-family dwelling.
A passerby first noticed the fire, which started on the front porch exterior of the home. According to preliminary findings, the fire was caused accidentally by the careless discarding of smoking materials, which ignited the contents of a flower pot and quickly spread to the structure.
The Greensboro Volunteer Fire Company was the primary unit that responded to the alarm. A total of 15 firefighters were deployed to the scene and worked diligently to bring the fire under control within 5 minutes.
Unfortunately, the incident resulted in an estimated loss of $20,000 to the structure and around $5,000 worth of contents within the home, which were also destroyed.
