CAMBRIDGE POLICE RESPOND TO AN ALTERCATION WITH A KNIFE; TWO PEOPLE ARRESTED

Cambridge, MD - On the morning of March 11, 2025, officers from the Cambridge Police Department (CPD) responded to reports of a physical disturbance involving a knife in the 700 block of Rosemont Avenue.
Upon their arrival at approximately 11:44 a.m., officers found a male and female involved in a heated argument. The individuals were identified as Amber Chyneice Satchell, 23, and Frederick Eugene Bishop Jr., 35, both residents of Cambridge, Maryland.
According to statements given to the police, the argument began when Satchell woke Bishop and confronted him about text messages exchanged with one of her coworkers.
Satchell claimed that the confrontation escalated when Bishop allegedly assaulted her by pushing her into a stool and kicking her. She further alleged that Bishop retrieved a knife from the kitchen, waved it near her, and attempted to intimidate her.
In an effort to defend herself, Satchell claimed she tried to grab the knife, resulting in a cut to her finger. She also stated that Bishop punched her in the face, causing her to fall.
Satchell reported that Bishop then took her phone and left the house. In an attempt to retrieve her phone, she reportedly grabbed the knife and went outside, later discarding the knife in the front yard.
Bishop provided a differing account of the events, telling officers that he was asleep when Satchell woke him and confronted him about texting her coworker. He stated that during the argument, Satchell went to the kitchen, began twirling a knife, and returned to him before punching him in the face three times. Bishop claimed he defended himself by pushing Satchell into a stool.
Due to the conflicting accounts and the visible injuries on both individuals, officers arrested Satchell and Bishop and transported them to CPD for processing. They both faced an initial appearance before a court commissioner.
