CAMBRIDGE POLICE LOCATE WANTED SUBJECT IN POSSESSION OF DRUGS
Cambridge, MD - On October 21, 2023, at approximately 1:51 am, Officers from the Cambridge Police Department located Antonio Willie James Smith (56 years old of Cambridge, MD) in the 500 block of Cedar St. Smith had multiple warrants for his arrest.
Smith was placed under arrest and upon search incident to arrest he was found to be in possession of Crack Cocaine. Smith was transported to CPD for processing and his initial appearance before a Court Commissioner.
Smith was also found to have an active Criminal Summons that was served on him. Smith was turned over to the Dorchester County Department of Corrections on No Bond. Smith was charged with the following:
- CDS Possession Not Cannabis
- CDS Possession Paraphernalia
- Warrant #1: Dorchester County Circuit Court Arrest Warrant for Violation of Probation
- Warrant #2: Dorchester County Circuit Court Arrest Warrant for Violation of Probation
Criminal Summons:
- Burglary 4th Degree Theft
- Theft $100 to Under $1,500
Charges stem from a shoplifting incident that occurred on 10-8-23 at Walmart. On 10-8-23, Walmart Asset Protection Officers (APO) observed Smith in the store placing clothing items in a diaper bag and then leaving without paying for the items. APO applied for charges against Smith with the District Court Commissioner where a Criminal Summons was issued.
