CAMBRIDGE POLICE ARREST SUSPECT IN STABBING INCIDENT FOLLOWING SOCIAL MEDIA DISPUTE

Cambridge, MD - The Cambridge Police Department has arrested 25-year-old Tavonte Damar Anderson in connection with a stabbing that occurred in the vicinity of Pine St and Muir St in Cambridge, Maryland. The incident, reported at approximately 10:32 a.m., stemmed from an altercation allegedly sparked by a social media post.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers located the victim, a 24-year-old male, who sustained multiple lacerations.
The victim identified Anderson as the assailant and provided authorities with the suspect's residential address. Officers proceeded to the location and apprehended Anderson.
Incident Overview
Preliminary investigations revealed that the confrontation began in the 800 block of Park Lane, where Anderson approached the victim over a Facebook post.
During the altercation, Anderson reportedly threatened the victim, stating intentions to kill while reaching for his waistband. The victim informed officers that Anderson then attacked him with a knife or box cutter, striking his head and causing the victim to fall.
Anderson allegedly continued to inflict multiple injuries before fleeing the scene.
Eyewitness testimony supported the victim's account, with a witness stating that Anderson initiated the attack with a sharp object. Surveillance video footage from the area also captured the incident.
Suspect's Detention
Anderson, who sustained an injury to his hand during the altercation, was treated at the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Cambridge before being taken into custody.
Following treatment, he was transported to the Cambridge Police Department for processing and subsequently turned over to the Dorchester County Department of Corrections. Anderson is being held without bond.
