CAMBRIDGE POLICE ARREST MAN FOR DUI
Cambridge, MD - On January 27, 2024, at approximately 3:09 am, Cambridge Police Department Officers conducted a traffic stop at High St and Maces Lane for a stop sign violation observed on High St at Washington St.
Officers contacted the driver of the vehicle, who was identified as Timothy Lian Sweeny (27 years old of Cambridge, MD).
Officers immediately detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle. Officers observed signs of impairment on Sweeny. Sweeny also informed officers that he had been consuming alcoholic beverages.
Sweeny was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Test (SFST), which he agreed to do. Sweeny did not pass the SFST's and was placed under arrest. Sweeny was transported to CPD for further testing where he submitted to a breath test. The test results showed a Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) above the legal limit of .08.
