Cambridge, MD-Cambridge Police were called to handle a disturbance at a nearby residence in the 400 block of Linden Ave in Cambridge, MD. The suspect, Tywan Jamar Sampson, a 35-year-old Cambridge resident, was found wielding a baseball bat. Officers quickly intervened, instructing Sampson to drop the bat.

Despite surrendering his weapon, Sampson failed to maintain a compliant demeanor, choosing instead to engage in an argument with an undisclosed victim.

As officers gathered details on the unfolding situation, it became evident that Sampson was unwilling to cease his disruptive behavior.

The victim reported to officers that Sampson had forcibly pushed open the door to their residence, striking the victim in the process. The assault didn't stop at the doorstep.

At this point, Sampson was arrested, but not without a struggle. As handcuffs were being applied, Sampson wrestled to free himself, and this resistance continued as officers escorted him to a patrol vehicle.

After being transported to the Cambridge Police Department, Sampson was processed for his actions and made his initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner. In the aftermath of this morning's events, Sampson has now been transferred to the Dorchester County Department of Corrections with No Bond.
