CAMBRIDGE MARYLAND LADY CHARGED WITH STABBING MAN IN LEG
Cambridge, MD - On February 9, 2024, Cambridge Police Department (CPD) officers arrested a local woman, Jeneil Marie Fortt, 31, and charged her with assault and a stabbing.
The events unfolded after a 911 hangup call brought the officers to the 900 block of Pine Street in Cambridge, Maryland at approximately 11:14 PM.
Upon arrival, Officers found a female subject bleeding, who was later identified as Fortt. Fortt was completely uncooperative with officers on the scene and refused to converse with the officers.
A knife was found at the scene on the ground, raising questions about the circumstances that led up to the original 911 call.
In a concurrent development, Cambridge Police officers were summoned to the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Dorchester County, Maryland, following a reported stabbing.
When they arrived at the hospital, they met with a male victim, who reported being assaulted with a knife to his leg.
The victim claimed to have been approached and battered by Fortt, initiating a physical altercation that ended with him being stabbed.
His description and information about the attacker corresponded with that of Fortt, who was located earlier at the scene of the 911 hangup.
Officers acted promptly, returning to Pine Street and placing Fortt under arrest. She was transported to Cambridge Police Department for further processing and appeared before the Court Commissioner.
After the initial proceedings, Fortt was handed over to the Dorchester County Detention Center and is being held without bond.

- Assault 1st Degree
- Assault 2nd Degree
- Reckless Endangerment
- Dangerous Weapon Intent to Injure
