CAMBRIDGE MAN CHARGED WITH MULTIPLE FIREARMS OFFENSES
Cambridge, MD - On January 30, 2024, at approximately 9:50 pm, Cambridge Police Department Officers were conducting an investigation in the 300 block of Cemetery Ave in Cambridge, Maryland in reference to a recent Armed Robbery, which occurred in the 600 block of Pine St.
While officers were conducting surveillance of a residence, officers observed a subject approach the residence and enter it with a bag then exit the residence with the bag and place it into a vehicle. The subject then entered the vehicle, and the vehicle went mobile.
Cambridge Police Department Officers attempted to catch up to the vehicle for investigative purposes, at which time the subject who had entered the vehicle, quickly exited the vehicle while it turned onto the 400 block of Muir St from Academy St.
The male subject was observed running from the vehicle carrying a bag. Officers pursued after the subject through backyards and back to the Academy St area.
Cambridge Police Department Officers observed the subject discard a handgun behind a house and the subject continued to flee.
The subject was apprehended in the 500 block of Academy St where he continued to resist officers and was acting in a disorderly manner.
After the subject was placed under arrest he was identified as Jhamere Emory (25 years old of Cambridge, MD).
Officers recovered the discarded handgun, which was a Glock 43x 9mm with a loaded magazine. The handgun came back stolen out of Centreville, MD.
Emory was transported to CPD for processing and his initial appearance before a Court Commissioner. Emory was later turned over to the Dorchester County Department of Corrections on No Bond. Emory was charged with the following:
- Resist Arrest
- Handgun on Person
- Loaded Handgun on Person
- Handgun in Vehicle
- Loaded Handgun in Vehicle
- Possession Stolen Regulated Firearm
- Failure to Obey
- Disorderly Conduct
