CAMBRIDGE MAN ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT, HELD ON NO BOND

Cambridge, MD - At approximately 12:32 a.m. on February 1, 2025, officers from the Cambridge Police Department responded to a report of a physical disturbance in the 400 block of Charles Street in Cambridge, Maryland.
Upon arrival, they made contact with the victim, who stated that George Nash Briscoe, a 29-year-old resident of Cambridge, Maryland, had assaulted her.
The victim alleged that Briscoe first shoved her, then strangled her, and finally forced her to the ground, where he beat her multiple times in the face. The officers observed injuries consistent with her claims. To secure an arrest warrant, they submitted an application to the Court Commissioner to file charges against Briscoe.
Later that day, around 10:38 p.m., officers from the Cambridge Police Department, along with K9 units from the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office, returned to the residence on Charles Street in an attempt to locate Briscoe.
A woman answered the front door and, upon the officers' declaration of their presence, appeared to be yelling at Briscoe that the police were here. She informed the officers that Briscoe was not present.
Shortly after, Briscoe emerged and surrendered to the police, who then took him into custody and transported him to the Cambridge Police Department for processing. K9 units announced his arrest as he appeared before the officers.
Chaqunita Renay Turner, a 39-year-old woman from Cambridge, Maryland, was identified in connection with the incident. Briscoe was eventually transferred to the Dorchester County Department of Corrections without bond.
The following charges were filed against Briscoe:
- Assault in the First Degree
- Assault in the Second Degree
- Reckless Endangerment
In addition, officers from the Cambridge Police Department submitted a request to the Court Commissioner to charge Turner, who was subsequently issued a Criminal Summons.
On February 2, 2025, at approximately 8:22 p.m., officers spotted Turner on the 600 block of Moores Avenue and served her the Criminal Summons.
Turner was charged with making a false statement to the police officer.
