CAMBRIDGE MAN ARRESTED AND CHARGED WITH ARSON OF SEPTEMBER 2023 FIRE
Dorchester County, MD - Deputy State Fire Marshals have arrested a 31-year-old Cambridge man for arson and numerous other charges stemming from an arson fire on September 23rd of this year at 406 Muir Street in Cambridge, Maryland.
An origin and cause examination of the fire scene determined the fire to be a result of arson. A thorough three-month long criminal investigation conducted by Deputy State Fire Marshals identified Roberto O'Donald Gross as a suspect. Gross was located today in Cambridge by Deputy State Fire Marshals and the Cambridge Police Department where he was taken into custody without incident.
Deputy State Fire Marshals have charged Gross with Arson 1st and 2nd Degree, Malicious Burning 1st and 2nd Degree, Home Invasion, Burglary 3rd and 4th Degree and two counts of attempted manufacture of a destructive device.
Gross was transported to the Dorchester County Detention Center after seeing a Court Commissioner where he is being held without bond. If found guilty of all charges, Gross faces a maximum penalty of 144 years and 6 months of incarceration and/or $145,500 in fines.
