CAMBRIDGE HOUSE FIRE RULED ACCIDENTAL

Dorchester County, MD - The Cambridge Volunteer Fire Department saved a Dorchester County home from devastation on the cold morning of January 14, 2025.


At around 8:23 A.M., a passerby noticed a house fire in the 100 block of Maryland Ave in Cambridge, Dorchester County, Maryland, and immediately alerted the authorities. The house, a single-family dwelling was on fire with initially believed to have originated from the living room.


The Cambridge Volunteer Fire Department was on the scene in a short period of time with a crew of 15 firefighters, who fought against the flames, managing to successfully control the fire within a mere 10 minutes of their arrival.


The estimated loss from the fire was capped at $15,000. The structure suffered damages worth $10,000, whilst the contents damage amounted to $5,000.


The house was equipped with a smoke alarm, which was activated during the incident.


The cause of the fire has been tagged as accidental, stripping away any fears of foul play. Authorities have confirmed no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.


The American Red Cross has stepped in, offering assistance to the residents, who were displaced by the fire.
