BLADES MAN ARRESTED FOLLOWING SUNDAY MORNING SHOOTING
Blades, Delaware - A Blades, Delaware man has been taken into custody following a shooting on Sunday morning, April 21, 2024. The suspect, identified as 25-year-old Harold Dixon, was arrested by Delaware State Police in relation to the incident.
The police were called to a residence on East Fifth Street in Blades, Delaware, around 8:21 a.m., following reports of gunshots.
Upon arrival, the troopers ascertained that several rounds had indeed been fired outside the home and witnessed a black car leaving the scene. A description of the vehicle and the suspect was quickly relayed, assisting in efficiently identifying and apprehending Dixon.
The investigation revealed that prior to the incident, Dixon was embroiled in an argument with a woman on the premises. In the heat of the dispute, Dixon proceeded to discharge several bullets into the ground.
This action became all the more distressing with the discovery that a minor was present inside the residence. Thankfully, no injuries were reported in relation to the incident.
Following his arrest, Dixon was transported to Troop 5. He was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 3 and charged accordingly. Dixon is currently being held at Sussex Correctional Institution on a bail set at $107,000 in cash. Dixon is charged with the following:
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)
- Possession of a Firearm by a Person Convicted of a Violent Felony (Felony)
- Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited (Felony) - 2 counts
- Aggravated Menacing (Felony)
- Endangering the Welfare of a Child
