BETHANY BEACH WOMAN ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT ON POLICE CHIEF FOLLOWING COUNCIL MEETING
Bethany Beach, DE - On Friday, October 18, 2024, at approximately 2:15 p.m., 3 members of the Bethany Beach Police Department were exiting a scheduled Town Council meeting following a promotional ceremony.
As the officers were leaving the meeting room, Lisa M. Bilder, a 66-year-old resident from Bethany Beach, Delaware, was standing by the exit.
She intentionally and deliberately kicked the Bethany Beach Police Chief as he was exiting the room. Lisa Bilder was immediately placed under arrest following the assault. The incident was recorded through Town Meeting Room cameras.
Bilder was charged with the following crimes and committed to Baylor Correctional Facility on a secured cash bond of $10,200 by Justice of the Peace Court #2.
- Assault 2nd Degree to a Law Enforcement Officer (Class D Felony)
- Disorderly Conduct (Unclassified Misdemeanor)
- Breach of Release (Unclassified Misdemeanor)
