Worcester County, MD - The Town of Ocean City, in partnership with the Ocean City Beautification Committee, has announced its annual Arbor Day celebration, which is scheduled for Friday, April 25. This year's event will take place at Ocean City Elementary School (OCES), where students will play an active role in the festivities.
The Arbor Day celebration is a cherished tradition in Ocean City and is eagerly anticipated by the community. The Beautification Committee, along with students from OCES, has organized an engaging program that highlights the vital role trees play in our environment. The event will kick off at 9:30 a.m. with an opening ceremony led by the American Legion Color Guard.
During the morning, students will present a variety of skits, poems, songs, and artwork, all centered around the themes of environmental conservation and the importance of trees. The highlight of the morning will be when students join the Mayor and City Council to plant a tree, contributing to the Beautification Committee's TreeMendous Program.
In addition to the tree-planting ceremony, attendees will enjoy demonstrations by the Ocean City Police Department, showcasing the skills of their mounted police and K-9 units.
Everyone is invited to participate in this meaningful tradition, whether you're a local resident or a visitor.
