ANTONIO OLIVER SENTENCED TO LIFE SENTENCE PLUS 30 YEARS FOR MURDER CONVICTION

Wicomico County, MD - Antonio Oliver, aged 26, has been convicted of first-degree murder and several other related charges by a Wicomico County Jury, and lasted 4 days. The sentence, which includes life imprisonment plus an additional thirty years, was delivered by the Honorable Kathleen L. Beckstead, Chief Judge of the Circuit Court of Wicomico County, on January 16, 2025.


The crime, which took place on July 31, 2023, involved Oliver engaging in a physical confrontation with the victim on Fairground Drive in Salisbury, Maryland. After the victim attempted to flee in his car, Oliver, receiving a handgun from an accomplice, pursued the car.


The victim's return and exit from his car were met with Oliver firing six rounds at him, resulting in a fatal outcome.


After the shooting, Oliver evaded the local authorities and fled from Maryland, before he was eventually found and arrested.


States Attorney Jamie Dykes reiterated that Wicomico County would never tolerate gun violence and expressed commitment to ensuring the safety of residents.


Dykes highlighted the continuous hard work of law enforcement agencies, particularly saluting the efforts of Cpl. Connor Willey, the lead investigator from the Maryland State Police Homicide Unit.


Dykes also acknowledged the contributions made by the Salisbury Police Department and Salisbury Fire Department, especially their emergency medical personnel who made valiant efforts to save the victim's life on the night of the incident.


Senior Assistant State's Attorneys Lauren Bourdon and Patrizia Coletta were also praised by Dykes for their determined advocacy in the case.
