ANTONIO JARMON SENTENCED TO 105 YEARS IN PRISON FOR HIS ROLE IN DRIVE-BY SHOOTING
Salisbury, MD - Antonio Jarmon, a 36-year-old resident of Salisbury, Maryland, has been sentenced to 105 years in prison by Judge S. James Sarbanes of the Circuit Court for Wicomico County. The sentencing occurred on August 23, 2024, following Jarmon's conviction on numerous charges during a three-day trial that concluded on June 5, 2024.
The charges against Jarmon include:
- Two counts of first-degree assault.
- Two counts of second-degree assault.
- Two instances of using a firearm in a violent crime.
- Reckless endangerment from a motor vehicle.
- Loaded handgun in a vehicle.
- Handgun on a person.
- Possession of a firearm with a criminal conviction.
- Illegal possession of ammunition.
Jarmon, who has an extensive criminal history, including prior convictions for two separate first-degree assaults, is prohibited from possessing firearms. His recent conviction stems from a drive-by shooting event outside the Westside Cash Market in Salisbury, Maryland.
Bullets struck two individuals during this incident on December 21, 2021. One victim suffered a gunshot wound to their leg, while the second victim was grazed on the side of their head by a bullet, causing a laceration.
Wicomico County State's Attorney Jamie L. Dykes emphasized the crucial work of law enforcement and prosecutors in curbing gun violence. Dykes applauded the efforts of former Detective B. Jones of the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office, Detective Doyle of the Salisbury Police Department, Trooper Tobias of the Maryland State Police, and others involved in the investigation.
Senior Assistant State's Attorney Michael Calabrese, the prosecutor for this case, was also commended for his dedication to justice.
