20TH ANNUAL TIM KENNARD RIVER RUN SET FOR THE FIRST WEEKEND OF MARCH

Salisbury, MD - Salisbury is buzzing with excitement for the 20^th Annual Tim Kennard River Run, scheduled for the first Sunday in March. This cherished event, presented by Pohanka of Salisbury, is known for being a day of fun, fitness, and, above all, community spirit.

The Tim Kennard River Run will start and finish at Salisbury Bible Fellowship and offers a variety of races to accommodate all types of runners and walkers. The event will kick off at 8:30 a.m., with participants able to choose between a challenging 10-mile race, a 5K run/walk, and a leisurely noncompetitive 5K "DOG" walk.

This race honors Tim Kennard, who tragically passed away at the age of 48 in 2004 after a courageous battle with kidney cancer. There are cash awards for the top three male and female finishers in both the 10-mile race and the competitive 5K. Additionally, awards will be given for various age groups, as well as for top master and grand master runners. To celebrate the race's 20^th anniversary, all finishers of the 10-mile and 5K events will receive a commemorative Tim Kennard River Run blanket.

The race also serves a community purpose by raising funds for impactful organizations such as TEAM 360, Coalition of Caring, and the Eastern Shore Running Club Scholarship Fund. Harlan Eagle, Race Director, expressed gratitude for the community's continued support of the event over the past two decades.

Families can also participate in the fun, as the eighth annual Rob's Run for Kids will take place the day before the main event. This race honors Rob Schultheis, who tragically lost his life while running and is specifically designed for children aged 2-10.

The registration fee for the main event is $65 for the 10-mile run and $35 for the 5K events. Race-day registration fees are slightly higher, at $70 and $40, respectively.
