12-YEAR-OLD ARRESTED AT FRED DOUGLASS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL ON WEAPONS CHARGES

Seaford, Delaware-A 12-year-old student was arrested at Fred Douglass Elementary School in the Seaford School District on charges of Possession of a Firearm in a Safe School Zone and Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person. The incident took place on school grounds and has prompted an active investigation by local authorities.

According to officials, the juvenile arrived at school as a car rider and entered the building before school staff were alerted to the situation.

Once staff received the report, they followed all safety protocols to ensure the well-being of students and employees in the building.

Following the incident, the student was processed by law enforcement and brought before a judge at the Justice of the Peace Court 2. The juvenile was subsequently released into the custody of their guardian, pending a scheduled Family Court appearance.
