Multiple Arrests Have Been Made on Suspects Involved in Drug Distribution in Salisbury, MD

The Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office Community Action Team (CAT) conducted an investigation into Drug Distribution from a residence located on the 700 block of Dennis Street in Salisbury, Wicomico County, Maryland. CAT has received numerous complaints about drug activity at the residence from the community. The area was identified as an open-air drug market.

On May 3, 2022, a combination of the Sheriff’s Office Emergency Response Team (SERT) and the Salisbury Police Tactical Team (TAC) served the search warrant at the residence. The Salisbury Police Department, Maryland State Police, and Wicomico County Sheriffs Office Criminal Investigation Division assisted with the operation.

As law enforcement converged on the property three subjects fled the property but were quickly apprehended. The subjects that fled were identified as Michael Brinson, Andrew Ellis, and Maliek Owens.

Additionally, Lisa Polk, Ivan Jackson, and Anyra Hudson were located on the property. Andrew Ellis was found to have 2 outstanding warrants for his arrest.

A complete search of the property revealed a large amount of drug paraphernalia indicative of CDS distribution and usage. A bookbag was located in the backyard that contained a loaded Davis .32 caliber semi-automatic handgun, as well as a digital scale.

A bag of suspected crack cocaine was located on the property indicative of the street level sale and/or trade of CDS. Two additional scales were located as well as .38 caliber ammunition and .40 caliber ammunition.

Inside the residence paraphernalia and an additional bag of crack cocaine was located. Michael Brinson was found to have a corner baggie with cocaine residue on his person. A search of a vehicle belonging to Hudson was conducted and a ripped baggie with cocaine residue was located inside the vehicle.

Polk, Jackson, Ellis, Owens, and Brinson were all arrested and transported to WCSO where interviews were conducted. Polk admitted to maintaining a common nuisance, therefore she was charged with multiple felonies and released to WCDC.

Throughout the investigation, it was determined that the firearm belonged to Jackson. Jackson is a convicted felon, therefore prohibited from possessing firearms. Jackson was charged with numerous CDS and firearm-related felonies and released to WCDC.

Ellis was charged with possession of cocaine, served with his arrest warrants, and released to WCDC. Owens, Brinson, and Hudson were all charged on criminal citations for possession of cocaine and released.

Ivan Jackson is currently held without bond at the Wicomico County Detention Center.

Lisa Polk is currently held without bond at the Wicomico County Detention Center.

Throughout the investigation it was determined that Keonte Bratten frequented the residence on the 700 block of Dennis Street Salisbury, MD to sell controlled dangerous substances.

Through this Drug Distribution investigation, a search warrant was authored and signed for Bratten’s residence located in the 300 block of London Avenue Salisbury, MD.

On May 11, 2022 surveillance was established on Bratten and he was stopped in the area of Dennis Street and West Road. After Bratten was stopped the SPD TAC team executed the search warrant in the 300 block of London Avenue.

A search of the residence revealed digital scales, packaging material, and equipment utilized to manufacture crack cocaine. Bratten was released and then an application for charges was completed for Bratten.

An arrest warrant was issued for Bratten for CDS-related offenses. On May 22, 2022, Bratten was arrested on the outstanding warrant, transported to WCDC, and then released on $25,000 bail.

This is an ongoing Drug Distribution investigation, additional people and additional charges may be sought.

This investigation was a coordinated effort between the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office, Salisbury Police Department, and the Maryland State Police under the Maryland Criminal Intelligence Network (MCIN). The Governor’s Office of Crime Control and Prevention (GOCCP) provides grant funding and strategic support to MCIN member sites to identify, disrupt, and dismantle criminal organizations through inter-agency collaboration and data sharing to make Maryland safer.

Those individuals mentioned in this news brief are charged with a crime and are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
