JAMIE DYKES SWORN-IN FOR SECOND TERM AS STATE’S ATTORNEY FOR WICOMICO COUNTY

Wicomico County, MD – On January 9, 2023, Jamie Dykes, a life-long Wicomico County resident, recited the oath of office and was sworn in by the Clerk of the Circuit Court, James “Bo” McAllister, to her second term as The State’s Attorney for Wicomico County. SA Dykes continues in office as the first woman elected State’s Attorney in Wicomico County history.

SA Dykes was joined at the ceremony by a full courtroom of family, friends, elected officials, members of law enforcement, and the prosecutors and staff of the Office of the State’s Attorney. The Senior Assistant State’s Attorneys, Assistant State’s Attorneys, and Special Investigators on SA Dykes’ staff were also sworn into office at the ceremony.

During her remarks, SA Jamie Dykes thanked her family, friends, and her many supporters. SA Dykes expressed her heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the entire law enforcement community for their hard work and diligence on behalf of the citizens of Wicomico County and remembered those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

SA Dykes spoke of the importance she places on the partnership between her Office and law enforcement as they work together to ensure every Wicomico County resident lives and works in a safe and vibrant society.

SA Dykes won decisive re-election victories in both the primary election, held on August 9, 2022, and the general election, which was held on November 8, 2022.
