Tropical STorm

Eastern Shore Undercover is planning for the worst and hoping for the best when it comes to Tropical Storm Elsa. This storm is forecasted to hit the Delmarva beginning today, July 8, 2021 and lasting through July 9, 2021. This storm is expected to bring periods of heavy rain and strong/damaging winds.

We are expecting Tropical Storm Elsa to start impacting the Delmarva around 2:00 PM today, Thursday, July 8, 2021. The storm should start out as just rain and then turning to rain and strong winds. Here at Eastern Shore Undercover, it will be all hands on deck! Our emergency coverage will start at 12:00 PM and we’ve got you covered until the storm ends or power goes out!

If possible, we strongly advise ALL MOTORISTS to avoid traveling during this weather event. If you absolutely must travel, please take the following precautions:

PAY ATTENTION TO EASTERN SHORE UNDERCOVER

We will have around the clock coverage to keep those on the Delmarva updated with information needed to get you from point A to point B. Take a look at our page before you leave and once you arrive….BUT NOT WHILE YOU ARE DRIVING!!! If you have friends or family that don’t follow Eastern Shore Undercover’s Facebook page, remind them just how awesome we are and tell them to give us a follow.

TAKE IT SLOW AND GIVE YOURSELF EXTRA TIME FOR TRAVEL

Drive slower than usual. Posted speed limits are for ideal weather conditions, not for times when Tropical Storm Elsa is affecting us. Slow down, provide yourself with a little extra time and arrive to your destination safely!

GIVE THE AUTHORITIES ROOM TO WORK

If you see Troopers, Sheriff’s Deputies, Police Officers, Fire Fighters, EMS Providers or any sort of First Responder/emergency worker on the scene of a Tropical Storm Elsa weather related event, please slow down, move over and give them room to work.

MAKE SURE YOUR VEHICLE IS READY

Please make sure your vehicle is ready for the storm. Make sure you have the adequate amount of fluids, check your brakes and fill up your gas tanks.

BE PREPARED

It may sound unnecessary but come up with a Tropical Storm Preparedness Kit! Store these items in a dry area that you can easily get to. We recommend you utilizing the following Readiness Kit.

Finally, if you have images that you would like to share with Eastern Shore Undercover, please send them to us via our Facebook page or by email to easternshoreundercover@gmail.com. This storm SHOULD NOT cause much issues for us here on the Eastern Shore however stranger things have happened and with anything, it is better to be prepared than to take it for granted and be stranded in an emergency situation.
