On Thursday, June 10, 2021 at 11:21 AM, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle operated by Amy Owens for a traffic violation on West Main Street in Salisbury, Maryland.
Upon making contact with Owens, the deputy observed indicators of potential illicit activity which prompted the deputy to call for a narcotics detection K9 team, to come to the scene to scan the vehicle for the presence of the odor of illegal drugs. A K9 team arrived on scene and initiated an exterior scan of the vehicle. The K9 gave an indication of the presence of the odor of illegal narcotics, which enabled a probably cause search of the vehicle.
Following an alert by the narcotics detection K-9, the deputy commenced a search of the vehicle, during which he located different types of CDS. The search of Owens’ vehicle revealed Cocaine, Crack Cocaine, Methamphetamine and Heroin.
The deputy placed Amy Owens under arrest and transported her to the Sheriff’s Office for processing and an initial appearance in front of the District Court Commissioner.
Following an initial appearance, the Commissioner detained Amy Owens in the Detention Center on a $5,000.00 bond.
Owens was officially charged with Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Crack Cocaine, Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Heroin.
